Banking System Translation Case Study

Background

The client is the largest airport foreign exchange company that hopes to expand itself in Chinese market and so have a lot of multidisciplinary materials translated into Chinese concerning financial management, transaction, automatic exchange, monitoring system, counterfeit money identifying system and internal procedures. After reading the test translation by TIMESTRANS, the client selected us for the project.

The Challenge

The localization of UI language seems to be simple, but it actually presents an issue of complicated cultural differences. In this project, consultation with banking professionals was required for translating some sentences. At the same time, the multidisciplinary materials posed another challenge against translation, and required cooperation of professionals from all relevant fields.

The Solution

TIMESTRANS is familiar with financial translation and quite experienced in localization, and so completed the project smoothly and satisfied the client’s requirements successfully. We worked closely with the client to finalize the translation of all the terminologies first and then invited professionals from all the relevant fields to do the translation with Trados. After the translation, proofreaders were assigned for proofreading and a senior reviewer for the quality assurance of the whole project.
