Translation of legal documents related to one case over a long period into Chinese.

Background

The client is one of the famous lawyer offices in China that accepts multi-national financial cases and so needs translation services. It has rigorous requirements for the translation quality and has so selected TIMESTRANS as its translation service provider. We annually provide around 500 thousand words translation between Chinese and English for this client.

The Challenge

Generally, financial cases go long time and refer to various fields from real estate, financial loans to mechanic equipment, and the documents to be translated include purchase contracts, loan agreements, and test reports etc. In this context, there must be staff from all related fields to be specially responsible for the same case over a long period so as to maintain the consistency.

The Solution

TIMESTRANS assigned special translators and proofreaders from the related fields for each case of this client, and at the same time established and maintained specialized termbases and translation memories for the case so as to keep the consistency in terms, phraseology and style. During the translation, there may be peripheral documents coming, such as revisions or additional terms, which requires much more attention to the process.
