DTP (Desktop Publishing) Quality Control
TIMESTRANS Desktop Publishing (DTP) Process
Linguistic Sign-Off (LSO)
- Once page layout has been finalized and screen captures and other graphics have been inserted, the document may be proofread by a reviewer responsible for the final linguistic quality and accuracy of the deliverable.
- LSO should be carried out before Final DTP QA. The reviewer feedback will be implemented by the DTP specialist.
- Manual will be sent to LSO in PDF format.
- Reviewers should insert comment notes to the PDF with changes to be implemented by DTP specialist.
Final DTP Quality Assurance
- Final formatting verification of localized files against source files, either on screen or on printed copies.
- Full QA of DTP work to ensure document layout, fonts, styles, index entries, TOC and cross-references are accurate.
- The DTP Specialist must use the checklist to qualify the errors found.
- Senior DTP Specialist should be responsible for this task. Feedback must be given to DTP specialists responsible for DTP formatting.
Client Review
- Done on a sample of formatted material – This review is usually scheduled at the beginning of the DTP process to ensure formatting and technical specifications are being followed.
- Done on finalized material – QA check of the files delivered by TIMESTRANS. Corrective actions, if any, will take place immediately after client’s feedback.
Testimonial
We much appreciate your use of terminologies. It's incredible that you complete the large volume of translation within such a short timeframe while maintaning the consistency of terminologies.
